Who Are We?

The water crew within Public Works is responsible for hookups on existing properties, and installation of water meters on new properties.  Public Works, complete the necessary application, and provide payment for the turn-on. A deposit of $75 for commercial properties, and $50 for residential properties, plus a $5 administration fee is required before service can be activated. Usually, the town can activate an existing building the same day that the request for service is received, depending on current workloads.

A bare property requires a water meter and sewer connection, which takes about two weeks to complete. This includes marking the utility, scheduling the meter installation, and hooking up to the Town's sewer main.

The Public Works Department samples the wells on a regular basis to ensure that the public water system is in compliance with all state and federal regulations.
